Blackhorn Refund Policy
Realigned September 26, 2026 to Master v1.1 · read with the Terms
Refunds on Blackhorn are governed by Section 7 of the Master Terms of Service.
This page does not add to, subtract from, or restate those terms. Where this page and the Terms differ, the Terms govern.
What the Terms say
7.1 General rule
A membership payment is a donation tendered to the Club in the form of the Sanctuary Card. A donation tendered is non-refundable by definition. There is no refund window, no refund method, and no refund exceptions except as stated in 7.2.
Master Terms of Service v1.1 · Section 7.17.2 The only exception
Refunds are issued only where the Operator is bound to issue them by law. Nothing else creates a refund entitlement. Where a refund is required by law, it will be returned by the original payment method within the period the law requires.
Master Terms of Service v1.1 · Section 7.2That is the whole of the refund rule. There is no refund window set by Blackhorn, and no discretionary exception programme, because the Terms create neither. A refund exists only where the law compels one.
Disputed payments
Disputing a payment is not a breach of these terms. Section 7.3 governs disputed payments and Section 7.4 governs fraud, and both are quoted here in full because this page previously said the opposite.
7.3 Disputed payments
The Club is a private association and may decline to continue or renew any membership — in whole, in part, or across every Club property — at its discretion, without stating cause. Nothing in this Contract limits that discretion, and no particular reason, including a member's dispute of a payment under a statutory right, is required to exercise it.
What the Club will not do is claim anything further from a member merely because they disputed a payment. The disputed amount itself is resolved by the rules of the bank, card network, or processor involved, or by applicable law. Beyond ending the association, the Club asserts no additional penalty, debt, or cost against a member for a good-faith dispute.
Master Terms of Service v1.1 · Section 7.37.4 Fraud
Where a payment is found — by the payment processor, a court, or an arbitral tribunal — to have been obtained or disputed by fraud, the Club may permanently exclude the account and every account associated with it, and pursue recovery to the extent law permits. A good-faith dispute, including one made under a statutory right, is not fraud.
Master Terms of Service v1.1 · Section 7.4Amendments to these terms
This page had no amendment clause. It does now, and it is the Terms' clause rather than a new one written for this page.
15.1 Amendments are published at this URL with a new version number, effective date, and a posted change notice.
15.2 Material amendments (fees, refunds, arbitration, liability, licensing, minors) take effect for existing members only after 14 days' posted notice. A member who rejects a material amendment may terminate, and the donation treatment in Section 7 applies.
15.3 Administrative amendments (contact details, technical descriptions, formatting) take effect on posting.
15.4 Current and prior versions are archived so the version you accepted remains available to you.
Master Terms of Service v1.1 · Section 15Acknowledgment
By making a payment to Blackhorn, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted the Master Terms of Service before sending funds.
You further acknowledge that you are assuming the full risk of payment, participation, access, and loss.
